on over-complication and understanding
We tend to over-complicate things. The simple or the obvious sometimes seems too simple and/or obvious to be true. I know. I've been there.
Maybe we need to do a bit more thinking, a bit more research before we get down to it.
But maybe not. We learn along the way. We learn by doing. Questions that seem of paramount importance can be answered by the self. Go on your journey and carve out your own understanding.
Of course, not in isolation. Talk with people who've been there and done it. Talk with people on a similar journey.
But sitting on your armchair is not going to cut it. I leave you with the immortal words of the great Bruce Lee.
Before I studied the art, a punch to me was just a punch, a kick was just a kick. After I'd studied the art, a punch was no longer a punch, a kick no longer a kick. Now that I understand the art, a punch is just a punch, a kick is just a kick. – Bruce Lee
